Six years ago, I met a mystery. Smooth, sexy, and confident, his arms wrapped around me on that cold winter night. A deep, rugged voice embedded itself in my soul. Dark eyes stared deep into mine, begging me to stay. Six years ago, I ran and didn’t look back. The memory gives me chills to this day. And as I close my eyes, I imagine him whispering sweet nothings to me. That perfect night together, just one night, is our secret; an unspoken memory two strangers share.

Now, my mystery becomes a reality. One that faces me, head on, and stares with those same dark eyes, speaking with that same deep voice. A mystery I cannot escape, one the shadows won't let me hide from anymore. Once he finds out my secret, it will shatter his heart. He should have stayed away.

MY Review:

**3 stars**

This story was short and sweet, but it was interesting. I liked that it was almost a love at first sight type of relationship. I liked that Dylan and Major (super cute names) literally bumped into each other and he basically kidnapped her. I liked that it wasn't all rainbows and unicorns - there was a great deal of strife between them. While I do feel like the pace fit for it being a short read, the story could have developed more. There were some things that were mentioned that left me with questions, like Major's relationship with his parents. I felt like Dylan should have never kept such a MAJOR secret (see what I did there, lol). I felt like she should have been honest and up front, but her reasoning fit with the story, even though I disagree with it. I also didn't get a good feel for the "henchman (men?)." She left her hometown and it seemed the threat was over, but all of a sudden it's back after so many years. Did they stop looking and just happen to be there or did they just wait around for her to show up again? There were a few editing errors, but I'm not sure if that was because I was reading an ARC. Overall, I liked the story and would probably read more from the author.

**I received and ARC and am voluntarily reviewing.**
